DCSI's modern IP/MPLS and native IPv6 network (AS17551) operates across West Gippsland, with redundant connectivity to our presence in the Melbourne CBD where we link to the greater Internet through transit provider Connectivity I.T. (AS58511).
Our multi-vendor, standards-based network is powered by Cisco and MikroTik routers, with sites linked together by a mixture of carrier-grade microwave and optic fibre backhaul.
The DCSI fixed wireless network comprises several towers across West Gippsland, offering a mixture of access points using open technologies including WiMAX and the 802.11 family, as well as vendor-proprietary protocols such as Ubiquiti AirMax, Cambium PMP450 and Trango's M2400S platform. Most towers are connected with redundant paths, allowing for continuous operation in the event of any single link failure.
The network is monitored 24 hours a day all year round, with automated alerting to on-call technicians able to respond to problems as quickly as possible. See our network status page for information on current outages and scheduled maintenance.
